People don't often associate seeing a lawyer with warmth, generosity, welcome, and empathy. But we believe those things are important parts of our process. Almost as important as the quality of our advice and expertise.
When we started Tallgrass Estate Planning out of our home in 2016, it was crucial that hospitality be front and center in how we counseled our clients. Talking about disability, death, money, and family is not always easy, and a cold and intimidating environment often makes the conversation even more difficult.
We believe that creating a welcoming, accessible setting for our clients is integral to creating comprehensive estate plans. Sometimes clients ask us, if we were your parents or grandparents, what would you tell us to do? Beyond the specifics of client situations, we'd be warm. We'd make sure they felt comfortable asking us questions, and we’d wait till we could see they understood what we were saying. We'd check in with them about funding, if they needed it. We'd help out with funding as they got new assets.
